Shelter by Jels Voldsted
The shelter at Jels Voldsted is located in the middle of the forest. Between the tall, slim and shady beech trees the shelter is almost level with the forest bed. Here you can really lie low.
The shelter has room for about 8 people. Here you can light a campfire, weather permitting. The shelter is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with walking disabilities. There is no access to drinking water.
There is approximately 50 meters from the shelter to the banks of Jels Nedersø, and the new Jels Søbad is located about 1,5 km away along forest trails. On the way, the Danish Nature Agency has created a small morning outdoor workout area.
The shelter is owned by the Danish Nature Agency
Directions:
There is a parking area between Jels and Vamdrup at Koldingvej 3c. Here there are yellow route markings along a 300-meter trail. If you head to the right you will find the shelter shortly after.
