Hærvejen

Hærvejs-fortællingen
For flere tusind år siden, før bilerne fyldte vejene, og før jernbanen forbandt de største byer, gik Jyllands hovedvej langs vandskellet op gennem landet. Her vandrede folk fra alle samfundslag – pilgrimme, røvere, adelsfolk, tiggere, håndværkere, studedrivere med deres okser, handlende med deres kærer og konger med deres hære.
Hærvejen blev aldrig anlagt. Den opstod. Hvor man gik, og hvor man kunne komme frem afhængig af årstiden. Som et netværk af ydmyge grus- og hulveje fra by til by er Hærvejen vokset sammen med landskabet. Fra det nordligste Jylland til den tyske grænse og videre ud i verden slynger hjulsporene sig igennem den ofte uspolerede og barske natur. Ved Hærvejen er man langt væk fra hverdagen. Man bevæger sig i sit eget tempo, på cykel eller til fods, gennem fredfyldt og mange steder uberørt natur. Her er ro og tid. Tid til at tænke, mærke, være og opleve.
Hærvejen er ikke en traditionel turistdestination. Den er meget mere end det. Den er på én gang en historie og en rejse. Fra nord til syd, fra fortid til nutid, fra hektisk hverdag til fred og ro. Ved Hærvejen kommer man helt tæt på. På historien, på naturen, på sig selv og på hinanden.
Her bliver tingene enkle, øjeblikket forstørres – og de små oplevelser bliver intense og store.
